Day 4: African Wild (painted) Dog
Our nyala work for this morning was cancelled. So we went back for a visit to Jessica Hippo, then to a waterfall, then to do a tuberculosis test on a painted dog at a wildlife rehabilitation center. Then on to our final location, in hopes of darting a leopard to place a tracking collar on it.
This is Jessica, a 22-year-old hippo. She lives in the wild, but returns to the family who raised her regularly.
After we visited Jessica, we went to a waterfall—lovely walk!

Stone-skipping lessons: Success!
Isn’t this the cutest bridge?! It felt like we were crossing into fairyland!
